DIY Banner Ads

advertising1

Banner Ads are one of the options we offer to senior living & care service providers, along with senior related products.

According to Wikipedia, “A form of online advertising, the web banner, or banner ad, entails embedding an advertisement into a web page. It is intended to attract traffic to a website by linking to the website of the advertiser.”

You can see some good examples at https://designschool.canva.com/blog/banner-ads/.

Some of our clients have ad agencies or creative departments who create these ads for them and have a library to choose from. But many of our clients are smaller businesses without this support. Not to fear though, just like creating videos, you can create a professional banner for your business in 10-30 mins. for free, without a design degree or expensive software. Like almost everything else out there now, there are numerous sites that offer banner creation for free. Some I have used include:

But there are many more. Just Google “Free Banner Ad Creation.”

From there, the wizard will walk you thru choosing a template, adding a background color, your logo or image, text, etc. It’s pretty easy. Just know what size you need. Your goal is to keep it simple, one message to drive the click. Once you are happy with your creation, you can save it and send it to your media source with the link URL (where you want the users to go when they click).

If you are interested in a banner ad on our site, ask for pricing. It’s a great way to get views in another search category or area.

How Does the New LifeStyles Guide Filter Into Each Market?

Distribution

We are often asked how our guides filter into the market each cycle.

In answer:

– 75% are mailed out initially to our distribution network. Those with standing orders, like hospitals, senior communities, senior centers, physician offices, churches and many other community outlets.

– The rest are sent out continually over the next five months, thru orders on our site & via phone, requests for senior shows, refills for distribution slots and the like.

Last month, more than 7,000 guides went out our door for orders, refills, shows, etc.

That’s means more guides on the streets & more views for our advertisers.

If you would like to see the distribution map for your area, or if you need guides for an event or a client, please contact us.

New Format for 2017

New NL Community Cover Example

We are excited to announce a New format for the New LifeStyles guide.

Starting with the Chicago guide to senior living and care (out in late June), advertisers will benefit from:

• Greater focus on self-contained sections/categories for ease of use

• Revised listing format allowing more information

• Cover available to showcase your community or services

And all for the same rates including print, digital and online.

Tell us what you think: The first person to comment on this blog will get a free full-page ad or online featured listing in their area of service (must offer a senior related product or service, and must be a new ad, not replacing current advertising).
