Live-in Care & 24-Hour Care

When Live-In Care is provided, at least two Home Care Assistants (HCA) are assigned. 24-Hour Care can be divided into two 12-hour shifts or three 8-hour shifts. Different Home Care Assistants are assigned to each shift and none of them live-in.

Homemaker/Home Management Services

Homemaker services offer practical assistance with routine household tasks and related activities to enable a client and to remain in a safe, clean, and healthy home environment.

Homemaking services may include general household cleaning, planning, and preparing meals, shopping for groceries or other items, running errands, laundry, ironing, changing bedding and assisting with management of household finances. Homemaker services do not include Chore Services or personal/hands-on care.

Homemaker services are usually provided on an hourly basis.

Home Services that Companions provide include:

*Providing companionship activities e.g. conversation, games
*Reminding to take medications i.e. the right dosage at the right time
*Preparing meals and cleaning-up
*Ensuring diet is healthy, balanced and adheres to any dietary restrictions
*Conducting homemaking activities, such as light housekeeping, laundry, shopping, and running personal errands
*Transporting to medical appointments, social events and physical activities
*Promoting social interactions.
