Types of Housing/Care Search Definitions
Affordable Senior Housing Affordable Senior Housing HUD 202 Program that offers rental assistance for seniors who meet the requirements of the federal program.
Assisted Living Residences Assisted Living Assisted Living is a housing option for older adults and seniors who need some assistance with activities of daily living, but do not require the kind of 24-hour nursing and medical care provided by nursing facility.
Continuing Care Retirement Communities Continuing Care Retirement Communities A retirement community that offers a broad range of services and levels of care based on what each resident needs over time.
Home Care Home Care Home Care is any service where aides, therapists, and nurses provide assistance in a client’s residence, helping them remain independent and healthy.
Home Health Agencies Home Health Agencies A public or private agency that specializes in providing skilled nursing services, home health aides, and other therapeutic services, such as physical therapy, in the home.
Hospice Hospice Continuous care provided for a terminally-ill person, and his or her family, during the final stages of life.
Nursing Homes Nursing A state-licensed residential facility that provides a room, meals, help with activities of daily living, recreation, and general nursing care to people who are chronically ill or unable to take care of their daily living needs.
Rest Homes Residential A facility providing custodial care. Services provided in these facilities are more residential than medically oriented. They include protective supervision for the residents, as well as room, board, social activities and limited social services.
