| Assisted Living |
Assisted Living |
Assisted Living offers a residential arrangement, for a fee, for dependent elderly and adults with disabilities. ASL provides assistance with activities of daily living and other services that promote seniors’ quality of life. |
| Home Health Agencies |
Home Care |
Home Health Agencies provide services that help seniors’ function as independently as possible in their own homes. Home Health Care involves medically-oriented care, ranging from dressing changes by a trained, supervised aide, to physical therapy, education and self-care provided by a licensed professional. |
| Hospice |
Hospice |
Hospice Care involves a coordinated program of home, outpatient and inpatient care under the direction of an identifiable hospice administrator providing palliative and supportive medical and other health services to terminally ill patients and their families. Hospice is an option for care, utilizing a medically directed interdisciplinary team, which may also include services provided by trained volunteers. A Hospice program provides care to meet physical, psychological, social, spiritual and other special needs, which are experienced during the final stages of illness, and bereavement. Hospice Care is available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. |
| Neighborhood Home |
Residential |
Neighborhood Homes involve a residential service setting providing housing and support services to five or fewer people and licensed pursuant to section 1101 of Title 16 of the Delaware Code annotated. This definition does not include ICF/MR programs. |
| Nursing Homes |
Nursing |
Nursing Homes provide permanent facilities including in-patient beds and medical services, continuous nursing services, and treatment for elderly or disabled patients who do not currently require continuous hospital services. Nursing Homes may have various levels of care; this level is determined by a physician and is contentiously maintained by Nursing Home staff. Nursing Homes are subject to all applicable code requirements of the State Fire Prevention Commission. |
| Rest Homes |
Nursing |
Rest (Residential) Homes provide resident beds and personal care services for persons who are normally able to manage activities of daily living. Rest Homes provide friendly understanding to resident seniors as well as appropriate care in order that the resident's self-esteem, self-image, and role as a contributing member of the community may be reinforced. |
