The Lion Hospice Mission

To families facing death, Lion’s strong team brings,

STRENGTH...for today, COURAGE...for the journey, and PEACE...at the end of a life fully lived.

One of the most common statements hospice providers hear from families following the death of a loved one is “Why didn’t we get hospice care sooner?”

Lion Hospice provides comfort and support to persons in the last phases of an incurable disease so that they may live as comfortably and fully as possible. Lion Hospice recognizes that the dying process is a part of the normal process of living and focuses on enhancing the quality of remaining life. Hospice affirms life and neither hastens nor postpones death. The goal of hospice care is to improve the quality of a patient's last months by offering comfort, dignity and care in a familiar setting.

Unlike regional and national hospice organizations Lion Hospice is locally owned and operated. Locally owned and operated means decisions regarding admissions, patient care, even special requests from patients and families can be addressed quickly and individually. Hospice should never be a "one size fits all" service. Locally owned and operated also means our professional team of physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, hospice aides, bereavement counselors and volunteers are dedicated to completing the circle of care for our patients - our family, our friends, and our neighbors.

Our Services Include:

Pain and Symptom Management
Emotional and Spiritual Support
Home Health Aides and Trained Volunteers
Medications, Equipment and Supplies
Grief Support for Loved Ones
Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy
Dietary Counseling

We Provide Our Services:

Lion’s strong team helps patients and families address the significant medical, emotional, psychological and spiritual changes in their lives. Hospice addresses all symptoms of a disease, with a special emphasis on controlling a patient's pain and discomfort. Quality of life is improved as physical, emotional and spiritual concerns are addressed and alleviated.

Hospice also deals with the emotional, social and spiritual impact of the disease on the patient's family and loved ones and offers a variety of bereavement and counseling services to them before and after a patient's death.
